Balance in my Crazy Life

This past year has proven to be the most difficult year for me.  I have always considered myself a strong person, one that never says no to friends & family, and I thrived on being busy.  Being a busy reached a new level, when my husband started working away from home.  Sometime two weeks, and home for a week, and more recently three weeks at a time with only 6 days at home.

People kept saying I don't know how you do it... how do you manage it all?  Truth be told... I crashed... I could handle it for a while.  Up at 6 am... going for a run... getting the kids ready for school... starting the daycare at 7:30 and finishing at 5 pm... doing all the laundry, cleaning, cooking, homework with the kids... all their activities outside of school which accounts for about 10 to 15 hours a week... I tried to make time for scrapbooking, I tried to make time for myself.  In the end... I was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.

A big sacrifice for me was giving up designing for some amazing companies.  I miss it TONS... but I know I will be back one day, I will keep on designing with their products (side note... AWESOME releases from Doodlebug Designs & Bella Blvd this winter CHA!!!!).... I thought stepping down would make everything that much easier for me BUT I still felt overwhelmed with everything.  Single parenting is tough... on top of running a business....

SO... the decision was to close the daycare two days a week.  My heart was heavy and relieved all at once. I knew I was going to have to say goodbye to some wonderful kids (& parents), but I knew that I could not give the daycare 100% and I could not continue to give my kids 100% going at the rate I was going at.  So at the beginning of January I broke the news to my families. As of the end of February, this will take effect.

I thank all the families for understanding, some even wondering how I lasted this long.  I thank them for being so understanding.  So there is a light at the end of the tunnel for me.  I can't even imagine having a "day"  to get things done where I have no kids to look after.  I think the first day might be a little overwhelming.

I always come up with a new little word every year, and this year was easy......

This blog has been used for many things- from blogging about Daycare, trips, and mostly- my crafty obsession.  But this year, I look forward to balancing everything- life, job, family, and craftiness.... I look forward in sharing as much as I can, and I look forward to enjoying the process of sharing :)

I am hoping to start Project Life... but with my own little spin... I am tired of being tied to weeks... and utterly failing and getting behind.... so I have opted to do PL by month.  This may just be one double page... or two... or three... I made add 12 X 12 pages too... not sure, but I am keeping it open!

I have also been loving the whole idea of planners... yes planners... super cool! I can't wait to explore how I can add some creativity to sorting out my crazy schedule!

Minis.... thats right... I really LOVE doing minis... and its been awhile since I have done one, so be prepared for some cool ones too!

Kids Crafts!  I am hoping to share some kids crafts and daycare stuff too that I have been doing! I got away from that for awhile, but I look forward to sharing :)

Alright I have been rambling on enough now.....

So firstly... I apologize... I push the publish button when I "preset"  my blog post! Oops!! I tell ya, sometimes I just rush, rush, rush :)

So it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas over at My Creative Scrapbook!  I got to play with the MAIN kit this month, and it was full of Christmas Goodies!! I created four layouts with this kit! And here they are:

This was my FAVOURITE layout that I created! I wanted to show how you could use this kit for even a winter layout! Step by step layout tutorial coming soon for this layout!

I love how I used the flowers in this kit! I cut them in half and then created a patterned border. I added the awesome flair buttons to the centre! So fun!

For this layout I made a "christmas present"  by cutting a square and then adding the gorgeous ribbon in this kit around it! I added a flower/flair as a bow with a sticker for a tag! So cute!!!

My last layout was really simple... since the patterned paper in this kit made it easy to put together! I embellished with stickers, brads, and flowers!

So as you can see how AWESOME this kit is... full of possiblities! Here is the kit that I played with:

You can head on over to the My Creative Scrapbook page to reserve yours today... and don't forget to check out the design team gallery for lots of inspiration!

Layout #3 & Layout #4 with My Creative Scrapbook!

Are you all recovering from the weekend?  This is the first weekend in a long time that we didn't have "too much" going on, and I still managed NOT to find the time to write a post on Sunday! That was most likely because of the disaster zone that has been lurking in Taylors room for months... yes months... I have just shut the door and tried to forget the countless little toys that covered the room!  I spent a good three hours in there Sunday morning... and I realized... SHE DOES HAVE A CARPET!  lol!  I organized, cleaned and threw things out when she wasn't looking. I even managed to get all of her "little things"  in a bin and put it so she can't get to it! I think she is now scared to play in her room though... not sure of what to do in a clean room!

So my plans for writing this up on Sunday morning before the gym (which didn't happen either) and before grocery shopping, shopping for winter boots for the kids, and getting Jordan to basketball practice... were put on hold.  So today you get two layouts!  Phew...

I loved drawing from the colours in Taylor outfit! I love the colour gray with pink right now I gathered up all the embellishments and paper in this kit to create a fun layout around these colours.  Here is a detailed shot of the awesome vellum titles in this kit! There is so many of them, and the possibilities are endless!

My last layout I am sharing is actually the first layout I created.  I was drawn to the lacy trim in this kit... even though its not my style... I really liked it, and wanted to make a super girly, pretty page with lots of texture!  Here is what I came up with:

Some detailed shots (yes I ACTUALLY got out my sewing machine on this one!)

SO PRETTY... all the layering and textures on here!! Okay today is a special treat for you!  A tutorial I created is up on the My Creative Scrapbook Blog.... all about how to use all those flowers in your kit!  Head on over for a look: HERE!

Be sure to head to the store to get your KIT today! They are going to run out fast.... and the best news... is there are MEGA KITS for sale... something you don't want to miss for sure!!!!!

One last thing... be sure to stop by and see (or drool) over the inspiration from the design team this month! Truly amazing! The gallery can be found: HERE.
