Hi everyone!

Sometimes I feel like the weeks are flying by, and sometimes I feel like a day will never end.  It was a difficult week last week, being March Break, and having my husband away at work.  But this week is looking better... My husband is HOME... and this weekend is Jordan's OBA's so it will be a fun weekend for all!

Today I thought I would share a card I made for one my mom's dear friends.  She grew up with her, and knew her longer that anyone I know. I have never really gotten to know her over the years until the week before my mom passed away.  She is a wonderful, wonderful person, who I am thankful was a part of my mom's life, and now a part of mine.  She was there with me, holding my mom's hand in her final days. She shared fun happy memories and lots of laughs... She is awesome!

Anyways, I thought a bright happy card to match her personality would be a perfect way of saying thanks:

I used a flip-it card from Stamps of Life and stamped the cute little butterfly on the card.  The best thing about Flip-its is this:

Totally cool!! I added a triplet flower on this side, and then wrote a message to my mom's friend :)...
A simple card that is so easy to make!

Owl's it going?

Happy Thursday everyone!

Are you surviving the March Break (if it's your March break in your neck of the woods)... this week is a hard week no matter what.  With the snow melting, and the ground sopping wet, its hard to get outside with the kids, which mean lots of kids to keep busy!  I am happy that it "kept" me busy and my mind off my mom... but at night I have been completely exhausted... probably a good thing! I have been tried... to squeeze in some crafty time here and there, and it took me a few days to finish this card but it makes me happy with the bright colours!

Of course it is using The Stamps of Life products!... I can't say enough about this company! Cards have never been so easy to make... and so cute too! For this card I used the postage2stamp dies and stamps as well as the Framelits by Sizzix Banners #2.

I stamped and die cut the banners  and then strung them together. Then I stamped the postage and then added the owl in the middle. SO cute, right?  I love the coordinating colours!

Finally I popped them up for a 3-D look:

Well its my Friday today! Tomorrow is a day with my kids (minus the basketball practice for Jordan!)... not sure what we are going to do yet... maybe more crafting with a walk if the weather gets any warmer!

Thanks for reading today!

A little Winter Bliss with Doodlebug Design

A while back I made this layout and I haven't shared it yet... but thought I would share it before it warms up into spring here!  I used the Frosty Friends collection by Doodlebug Design, and I LOVE the colours in this collection!

I LOVE how this turned out and that all three of my kids are in the "snow cave"..  We had so much snow this year... I haven't seen this much snow in Niagara since I was a kid! My kids loved it especially when they were able to dig out a cave from the snow ditch!   Here are some close ups:

I took a variety of the tag stickers and linked them together with the purple twine! I loved the look that this created and so simple to do!

At the top right hand corner I added two banners to add interest to the white side of the layout! I layered on top with some doodle-pop snowflakes and added some winter sprinkles!

I layered the photo with a variety of paper from this collection and of course added more twine, stickers and a mini clothespin!

So although I am "sick" of winter.... I really do LOVE this layout! Doodlebug always cheers me up... but I am looking forward to the spring weather!  I also can't wait to get my hands on the Happy Go Lucky Collection by Doodlebug... I am sure after tomorrow's big St. Patricks Day Party in the Daycare I will have lots to scrap about :)

Thanks Bunches!

So I have been busy making cards... lots of cards... it seems to be the only thing to keep my mind busy.  This week will be different though, with March Break here, and my kids home while my husband is back at work... means lots of kids to keep my spirits up :)

I made two sets of Thank you Cards... today I thought I would share one with you.  I have to send these out eventually but I really love how cheery they are!

I used the club die and stamp set from Stamps of Life: crazy4daisies.  I used a variety of patterned paper to get the colourful, happy look!

These cards came together in a flash! I love that the Stamps of Life has Dies that coordinate with the stamps, it makes crafting so much easier... and I love easy peasy!

Hoping to share more cards this week!

Thank you to the ICU Nurses and Doctors...

So for the last week or so, my life has turned upside down, and I have been on an emotional rollercoaster....  My mother passed away on Saturday, all too soon.  I am still in shock of what happened, and everything seemed so sudden.  I know in time, I will talk more of what happened... but today I wanted to let my blog readers know, how hard it has been for me this past week or two.

Papercrafting has always been my stress relief... my happy place... where I usually can draw on the good, and left my troubles subside for awhile....  So yes upon returning home, I heading to my craft room, and inbetween the phone calls and tears, I crafted some cards...

Today I thought I would share one that I made for  the ICU Nurses and Doctors at the Kingston General Hospital.  I have to say I have never been in a position where I even know what an ICU is run like (besides what you see on TV)... but every single nurse and doctor were so attentive, understanding, and helpful. I can not say enough about the wonderful care my mom received, and for that I am thankful!

The card I made was of course using the Stamps of Life (sizzix) stand up card! I love these cards... because they look good and are so easy to use.   I also used the triplets butterflies set and mini flower dies from the stamps of life.

Here is the card when standing up:

Here is the card lying flat before you open it:

And finally a look at the card from an angle so you can see the awesome dimension you can get using the butterfly triplets:
